Last summer, I had an amazing opportunity to spend three months living and working in Swaziland. This was just enough time for me to pick up some of the local language (siSwati) and get a taste of the Swazi culture. In this post, I will share some photos and videos from one of my most memorable days in Swaziland.

The highlight of this day was being able to attend my first traditional lobola ceremony (a ceremony where the groom and his family find out how many cows he will have to pay to the bride’s family for her hand in marriage). However, I did manage to have lots of fun along the way.

On our way from this AMAZING ceremony, my favorite song by Cassper Nyovest came on 🙂 Of course I had to get out of the car and DANCE to it!!

Isn’t Swaziland beautiful?!?

Having Swazi braai (BBQ) was the perfect way to end such an amazing day!
[Braai / pronounced ‘Bry‘/ – means barbecue in Southern Africa]

CHALLENGE
Figure out which country (or countries) you would like to visit within the next 5 years. Then do some research on how you can make it happen. It is amazing how much can happen once you make the decision that it will. #AnythingIsPossible
That’s all folks! I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed creating it. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the rich Swazi culture. It’s hard to believe that it has been almost one full year since this day!
